PPF is a clear, self-healing film that takes the hits your paint would. Rock chips, scratches, salt, and road debris hit the film, not your finish. We install Legend PPF, from a partial front to full-body coverage, all backed by warranty.
Paint protection film, or PPF, is a clear, tough urethane layer applied right over your vehicle’s paint. Think of it as an invisible shield. It takes the rock chips, scratches, salt, and road debris that would otherwise hit your finish, and it does it without changing how your car looks. The top layer even self-heals light scratches with a little heat, from the sun or warm water. Once it’s on, your factory paint stays perfect underneath.
Installed in Optical and Nano Fusion film — from door cups to full-body coverage, here’s exactly what each package includes. Prices are starting points; we’ll confirm once we see the vehicle.
We install Legend paint protection film because it holds up to real driving and real Illinois weather. It guards against rock chips, scratches, and the environmental wear that dulls paint over time. Legend backs the film with a 10-year warranty against yellowing, cracking, and delamination, and we back our install with a 2-year workmanship warranty.
Available in gloss, matte, and gloss black. Keep your factory shine, go stealth matte, or black out the details.

Teslas are one of the most common cars we protect. Soft factory paint, high-impact front ends, and owners who keep them for the long haul. We have a page built just for Tesla PPF, tint, and ceramic.
We hand wash, clay bar, and decontaminate the paint so the surface is spotless before any film touches it.
Film is precision-cut to your exact panels, so it wraps edges clean with no guesswork.
We lay the film and work out every bubble by hand, tucking edges so the film disappears into the panel.
The film sets, then we re-check every edge to confirm it’s sealed and flawless before you pick up.

The work that Dan and his team do is done with great detail and attention. They make sure that everything has been done with care and quality craftsmanship. They are not pushy on selling you things you don’t need, they listen to you and provide adequate recommendations. I would recommend going to Detail Tech before looking anywhere else. We have taken three cars there already! Everyone that works there is very kind and polite and cares about what they do. Thank you!
I had a great experience with Detail Tech! I brought my dad’s CTS-V in for an exterior detail and had two other vehicles tinted. The staff was professional, friendly, and easy to work with from start to finish. Kevin and Dan are extremely knowledgeable, offer very reasonable pricing, and clearly take pride in their work. Everything turned out fantastic. Highly recommend!
Outstanding quality work and good pricing. I drive an Audi that’s in great condition for its age but has some regular driving wear. They practically got rid of the scratches on my hood and cleaned the rear bumper up wonderfully. My interior looks better now than when I bought the car from the dealership. Overall I am very satisfied.
Kevin, Dan, and all of the guys at Detail Tech did a great job on both mine and my wife’s new vehicles. I got the 10 year ceramic coating on my 2026 Durango GT and had the front windows tinted to match the backs. I would recommend this business to anyone. Their work and professionalism is top notch, and their pricing is definitely fair. Great job guys!
A quality install lasts years. Our Legend film carries a 10-year warranty against yellowing, cracking, and delamination, and we back the install for 2 years.
No. Legend film is warrantied against yellowing for 10 years. The old, cheap films were the ones that yellowed. This one is built to stay clear.
Light scratches and swirls in the film vanish with heat, from the sun or warm water. Deeper hits are still protected, they just don’t self-heal.
Most people start with the front end, where the impacts are. If you want total coverage or plan to keep the car long term, full body is the move. We’ll help you decide.
Yes. Once it’s cured, wash it like you always would. The film actually makes washing easier, since dirt doesn’t bond as hard.
No. On healthy factory paint, professionally installed film comes off clean when it’s time.
PPF is a physical shield against impacts. Ceramic is a chemical layer for gloss and easy cleaning. A lot of customers do PPF on the front end and ceramic over the top, for the best of both.
